PIL has kicked off 2026 by publishing a series of thought leadership articles across two major product themes.
The company started by laying out its vision for Policy Intelligence in a six-part series. This explains how continuous, lifecycle-wide intelligence is transforming decisions at inception, uncovering hidden risk, as well as rewarding good customers and detecting fraud without adding friction.
At the start of spring, the focus shifted to Inform Manager. This six-part series makes the case for a single decision platform that puts control back in the hands of business users, from real-time decisioning and dynamic pricing to champion-challenger testing and tackling quote manipulation at source.
Earlier in May, the lens broadened further with a piece on the Single Household View as insurance's next competitive frontier.
This collection of articles demonstrates that the industry's data and decisioning problems are solvable, and that PIL is building the tools to address them.
Finally, the Team has just returned from BIBA 2026 in Manchester. Here they met brokers, insurers, and MGAs and continued the conversations these articles have started, creating the opportunity to turn this thinking into action.
Policy Intelligence Series
1. From Quote to Cover: How Policy Intelligence Creates Smarter Decisions at Inception
Policy Intelligence integrates enriched data, behavioural signals and contextual insights in real time throughout the quote-to-cover process. This enables faster, more accurate decisions at inception, identifies misrepresentation early, and improves customer experience from initial interaction.
2. Seeing the Risk Others Miss: How Policy Intelligence Uncovers Hidden Exposure
This article examines how traditional risk assessment fails where connected data succeeds. The approach links disparate data points to surface subtle exposures, behavioural anomalies, and risk stacking otherwise undetected, delivering fairer outcomes through holistic risk views.
3. Personalisation at Scale: Using Policy Intelligence to Reward the Right Customers
Live behavioural insights should drive personalised pricing and customer experience beyond static rating factors. Low-risk customers deserve to be rewarded with fair premiums, delivered at scale without operational complexity.
4. Policy Intelligence as a Defence Layer: Reducing Fraud Without Adding Friction
Policy Intelligence operates as a quiet fraud defence layer, analysing behavioural patterns and data consistency in the background. Genuine customers experience no friction while suspicious activity receives early flagging.
5. Beyond the Policy: How Continuous Intelligence Improves Retention and Lifetime Value
This piece challenges treating policies as static documents. Continuous intelligence and monitoring of risk changes throughout the policy lifecycle results in fairer renewals, reduced churn, and long-term customer relationships.
6. Turning Data into Action: Why Policy Intelligence is More Than Just Information
Data without action is just noise. Policy Intelligence extends beyond point-of-sale to provide ongoing, actionable insight throughout the policy lifecycle, enabling action on identified risk changes rather than mere reporting.
Inform Manager Series
7. Taking Back Control of Insurance Decisioning
Inform Manager was developed because insurance businesses should not require developers to change decisioning logic. Business users modify pricing rules, enrichment logic, and fraud thresholds through intuitive interfaces, replacing lengthy development cycles with rapid, auditable deployment.
8. From Data to Decisions in Real Time
The gap between data access and action creates problems. Inform Manager embeds real-time intelligence directly into decision-making, analysing application data and enrichment sources instantly as quotes arrive.
9. Smarter Pricing Without Sacrificing Agility
Tension exists between pricing precision and market responsiveness. Static rating tables and infrequent updates leave money on the table. Inform Manager enables continuous pricing refinement based on real-time data and market conditions while maintaining competitiveness and control.
10. Tackling Quote Manipulation Before It Becomes a Claim
Quote manipulation is best caught at intake rather than at claims stage. Inform Manager detects suspicious behaviour patterns during quoting and enables early intervention through referrals, pricing adjustments, or verification, while treating genuine customers fairly.
11. Testing, Learning, and Improving Without Disruption
Champion-challenger decisioning testing occurs within live environments alongside existing strategies. Innovation should not require betting the book. Inform Manager lets organisations compare real-world outcomes before committing to change.
12. One Decision Platform for the Entire Insurance Ecosystem
Inform Manager's vision serves as a unified decision platform bridging fragmented systems across insurers, MGAs, and brokers. Rather than replacing existing systems, intelligence flows where needed, reducing friction and duplication across the entire value chain.
Single Household View
13. Why a Single Household View Is Insurance's Next Competitive Frontier
Client director Chris Traill urges replacing single customer view pursuit with single household view focus. While single customer view helps insurers see individual customers clearly, single household view enables reframing customers and understanding their needs within real world context.
BIBA Conference 2026
The PIL team delivered a strong conference presence with Simon, David, Chris, Kieran and Ian showcasing Evaluate to steady streams of brokers and prospective customers during the two-day event. The team provided more than twenty live Evaluate demonstrations, creating strong follow-up discussion pipelines now progressing commercially, alongside valuable industry conversations.
Engagement around Evaluate reinforced growing demand for smarter data enrichment and insight solutions, with strong interest from organisations seeking improved risk understanding and customer outcomes.
BIBA provided the opportunity to strengthen relationships across the market with customers, partners and industry colleagues.
